Wow!!! Changes coming for the Brownells! Some of you may know that Lyle is now officially not working and we had decided to go on a mission. Well we got our papers back, finally, on thursday the 29th of April. It was a long hard battle to get everything done and get the papers in , so we were anxious to get them back. Well to cut to the chase---- we are going to the New York, New York South Mission as CES specialists. What ever that is. We will be gone for 2 years. We check into the MTC on July 12th and are there for two weeks, then head across country for New York. The mission takes in all of Long Island. Here is a picture of where so you can kind-of figure it out. Long Island has 8.5 million people on it, so these little Enumclawites will be totally out of place. They speak over 120 different languages on the island and say it is the most diverse place in the country, so it will be very interesting to get to know all kinds of people from everywhere.
One really fun thing is that my first cousin and her husband are working in the mission office in the same mission. They are from Oregon and started their mission in February. So they will be there almost as long as we will. That will be really fun to get to know her again. We haven't seen each other in a long time. So we have a great deal to do, but thought you would all like to know. We will probably start another blog just for the mission, so watch for that.

Another New Grandbaby

Meet Megan Raye Hillman. She was born on December 28, 2009. She belongs to Stephanie and Travis Hillman and is McKenna and Madison's little sister. We had fun going to see her. We got there the day after she was born and got to stay till after New Years. Stephanie and Travis are the only ones who have girls. All the rest of our grandkids are boys. This makes eight for us. Our family is really growing.

Our Trip To Cleveland

Jack thought this was a pretty cool tractor but wasn't sure where the steering wheel was.

This tractor was not quite as nice as my green John Deere. Jack was not wanting anything to do with this tractor for some reason.

Now this was a true race car. Anna thinks I should make some of these.
Jack warmed right up to us once Grandma gave him his wolf that he left in Washington

What do you think of our new little grandbaby (Anderson Kade Heaton) ??
Pretty darn cute, don't you think
We are super glad to have him here.

ma and pa's new landscaping.....

The parentals decided it was time for a little updating of the landscaping around the house. After a day of shoveling beauty bark Dad asked me to take a few pictures to post for you all to see. He is pretty proud of the result.

A Day at the Flea Market!!!!

So...some students for their school project this semester put on a flea market every satuday and I displayed my photography at it on the last one. It was a lot of work putting it all together so I'm hoping it was worth it! I think it turned out pretty well. So cross your fingers that I get a photo shoot or two out of it!!!----Whitney

March 7, 2009
This winter was quite cold and snowy so when Whitney had to go back to school in Jan. we didn't let her drive her car back. We were planning on dragging it behind Lyle's truck and driving her there but Lyle was still recovering from surgery and the weather was terrible so she had to go without it. So we decided to drive it down for her and fly back. We decided in the mean time that it was getting way worn out and we didn't want to have to worry about it being down there with only her to take care of it. So we gave it to Stephanie and we bought another one but didn't tell Whit. We took it there on March 7th. SURPRISE SURPRISE....
March-2009

Just a little info about Lyle... Some of you may not know that Lyle had a quadruple bypass in November. It all started as a checkup and ended up in the hospital on Nov. 19th for surgery. We were very lucky and met the best doctors. Everything went great and he is back to work full time now. He still has a few issues but not any that hold him back much. We are truly grateful for the Lords guiding hand in our lives. We know that he helped us to find the right people and to be able to get thru it all. Anyway we just wanted to say thanks for the help from everyone.
One more thought---Lyle was released from being in the Stake Presidency for 8 years on the 1st of March. Their whole presidency was released. The President was sick and starting dialysis . So that is another chapter in his life that has changed. It's tough to stay home and not do anything when you have done meetings for the last twenty years every week. I am sure there is something out for him soon but it has been a change for him. He's kind-of invading my space, but I am learning to adjust...

Rootbeer Taste Test!

So we had a fun filled evening with root beer taste testing. And let me tell ya it was hilarious. We got the idea from the Butler family and Lorri Thomas' blog. So we had to try it out for ourselves. Gayle went and got all the root beer and was the official hander outer. While we tortured our bellies.

There was plenty of tasting and contemplating.......

And the winning brand was .............................................

Henry Weinhardt's! That was followed by a a couple of brands we would have never suspected. Big K, Big Fizz and a couple others that were the store's brand. So if we show up to a party with one of those brands, it's not because we are cheap it is because we know which ones taste the best!

2 gold medals in one day!!! Haha!!!!

Rexburg had a tennis tournament for the 4th of July weekend and I played singles and mixed doubles with my friend Jeff. I won the singles bracket and we won the mixed doubles too!!! It was actually not a very big tournament so it was a little bit easier to win...haha! But it was a really fun weekend! I think I might wear my medals to church tomorrow!!
